I love a good contrasting look, especially one that incorporates a pop of color.  With so much going on these past few weeks -- including a last-minute trip to China for a project and holiday festivities -- I've been keeping outfits simple and pairing my statement pieces with wardrobe staples.  The blue and white stripes paired with black silk trousers and an exaggerated point, blur the line between menswear and menswear-inspired.  Normally, I'm all about the former -- borrowing a plethora of my boyfriend's bombers and jeans -- but these days, so many brands are making it easier to find the latter and I really can't complain. Since I rarely go full-blown menswear come footwear, I love a good shoe that meets my ideal aesthetic that's equally comfortable.  The buttery leather and stark black and white contrast are the ideal party shoe this season when I'm opting out of stiletto-types.  Whether I'm dressing them up with midi skirts or trouser, or simply pairing them with dark denim, there are few things I love more than a shoe with character.
