At home, I live in these pair of leather shorts and this striped tee is one of many, making their rotation in my daily life.  Then came this silk blazer to really transform all my basic staples.  Pulled together this variant for a chillier post-work evening out in the city as my boyfriend and I walked aimlessly menu-scouting for a place to eat. I've always been pretty self-conscious when "towering" over sneaker-wearing / ballet flat bearing foot traffic, especially during heavy rush hour as commuters and tourists pass through the Financial District.  I wish I had better cab karma to never have to take the subway when I'm wearing heels, but this is life.  I've learned to walk a little faster, and not be that girl taking her sweet time down the stairs toward the subway in heels though.  I can thank my calf muscles for that.
