{Luzzo's 7th Anniversary 7 Sins Pizza}

{Me and the man behind the Seven Sins}

{Making "The Spicy" pizza}

{...90 seconds later}

A few nights ago I had the pleasure of attending the anniversary of Luzzo's Pizzeria in the East Village where I  indulged in a sinful amount of coal-oven pizza.  And as if consuming more than three slices of pizza on the eve of New York Fashion Week wasn't sinful enough, Pizzaiolo Michele Luliano of Luzzo's introduced a Seven Sins pizza to the menu in celebration of his seven years in business.

The pizza combines a range of flavors and textures which are supposed to equate with the seven deadly sins (I'll leave that one up to your imagination) -- from smoky caramelized eggplants stuffed with fresh mozzarella and a drizzle of sweet dark chocolate to crunchy crushed walnuts and a roasted whole Serrano pepper, the pizza was decadent to say the least.

Then with wine in hand and remnants of Serrano lingering on our breaths, we ventured to the open kitchen to meet the man behind the Seven Sins and had an opportunity to make some real coal oven pizza.  My toppings?  Spicy, of course.
