THE GOH TO

something new, something old

Every year since I moved to New York, I've had the inordinate task of moving from one apartment to the next in the middle of winter. I saved myself the hassle this year by signing a two-year lease last year, but though I have saved myself time and money, I will certainly miss apartment hunting and exploring different spaces and views all over Manhattan.  Since I don't have the pleasure  of decorating a brand new place this year, I've searched around for some inspiration on reorganizing/ redecorating my current space.  I'm absolutely in love with vintage modern pieces that can really add some personality to an otherwise cold New York City rental.  For example, the curves, contrast, and textures of this 19th century inspired brownstone (photos 1, 2, and 3) adds so much warmth and depth to the space.  Additionally, Ashley Stark renewed her pre-war apartment (photos 4 and 5) by adding modern lighting fixtures and upholstering older pieces like the plush sofa.

What are some ideas you have to reinventing your current space?
