The end of summer marks the beginning of a new relationship with yet another set of shoes, specifically boots.  I used to be fairly self-conscious about wearing boots of the ankle variety fearing they'd only shorten my legs, but what I've learned over the years is that confidence always wins.

We shot these photos during a weekend before fashion month, marrying the ideal trans-seasonal separates -- a pair of distressed mini shorts and flared sleeves-- with the very fall-appropriate suede boots. The ensemble, like the setting, was relaxing and took my comfort level to the next level as we embraced the arrival of cooler weather and most importantly, new footwear.
