The end of the long Thanksigiving weekend usually marks the commencement of holiday party season. The next few weeks before I leave for California will be fairly hectic.  Between this and my social calendar, I’ve given myself a  head start on wardrobe options, making life easier by stocking up on seasonal favorites.

There’s really nothing that says the holidays like the arrival of cozy knits, but then there are hero pieces like the cocktail dress that play an incremental role in orchestrating outfit choices that help navigate the generous food consumption come this time of year. Normally, when I’m perusing the shops for something to wear right around now, it’s hard to avoid the holiday clichés of sequins and such, but every now and again, I’ll find hidden gems like these black numbers that fit the profile of simplicity and minimalism with just the right amount of detail.
