Zero My Hero

Ciao from Milano! Just landed a few hours ago and writing to you from my hotel bed, slightly delirious coming off the redeye with foggy thoughts, but certainly excited to be here!  I've had an extremely hectic past few weeks, and to be honest, it did not feel good neglecting the blog for what seems like an eternity.  I'm not sure when the last time I went over a week without updating, but regardless, it feels so good to hear my fingers clicking against the keyboard. It has literally been over a week since I popped open my laptop to edit photos and so I think it's about time to release all my pent-up energy.

Life just happened over the course of the past few weeks.  I took on a number of big jobs, specifically over the course of New York Fashion Week that simply consumed my time entirely.  It's been a long time since I've had a schedule that required so much of me, so it's certainly refreshing to get thrown right back into it.  And now I'm finishing up one of the jobs with fashion month in Milan then Paris, but before I share more (or too much for that matter) about the details of my week and weeks to come, I thought I'd best get to uploading the outfits from the week.

First up, is this dress from one of my most cherished designers, Zero + Maria Cornejo.  I wore this to her show last Monday.  By the time I got around to taking photos, I was definitely running on adrenaline -- up before sunrise and running between the east and west side, up and downtown all day.  I knew I wouldn't have a chance to even stop home for a wardrobe change, so I opted for minimalism which was the best decision I made all fashion week.  I love the way the dress falls on my frame and how you can easily manipulate its silhouette to play with any variation of looks.  For this particular day, I wanted some laid back and casual, relying heavily on accessories to add drama to the ensemble.  And so, here it is.  One of the many fashion week looks.
