Get In The Mode

2019. Dedication to body and self.

For someone who grew up as a 4-sport athlete, I was shocked to see how foreign physical activity had become. Late October of last year I was supposed to meet my friend for a class at his gym when I mistakenly showed up at the wrong location, and ended up in a cardio class that left me very exhausted. I finished the class and immediately signed up for the gym.

Since then, I’ve been dedicating most mornings and evenings to getting back into shape - not because the gym costs me a fortune but it’s certainly a great motivator. I forgot how much dedication is needed even to render even the slightest results, but I really had to flip the switch. I’m eventually trying to develop a simple 5-step guide to getting back into shape, a lazy girls guide to working out - it’s a work in progress so you’ll see that coming soon - but for now, the first step begins at the gear.

Nothing says refresh like a new outfit, and the gym is no exception. I was able to score these Mode XT trainers during my trip to Miami with Puma. They’re now my go-to workout shoe and exactly what I needed to refresh my workout wardrobe. I think the same rule applies to fitness - if you look great, you’ll get yourself in the mental headspace to also do great. So here I am, back in the mode!
