house to home

Great news, today is finally moving day! After months of back and forth with my (ex) landlord over the lack of heat in my apartment, getting five days notice, posting up with a few luggage at hotels and my boyfriend's, I finally get to move into a new space. I've always believed in the best in people and have faith that they will do the right thing, but I continue to learn that's not always the case.  I learned the hard way with landlord-owned apartments in New York after a relationship with my landlord went south over heating issues and unattended work orders in the building.  I didn't have functioning heat in the dead of this frigid winter for THREE months!  Built up that tolerance to the cold though!  Anyways, as much as I loved my quaint East Village apartment, I'm glad to part ways and move forward.

So now we're here, moving day.  I found a large one-bedroom just a few blocks from my current space and couldn't be happier with the set-up.  I'm really excited about the decorating process and really transforming the apartment into a home.  I already texted my friend Patrick who always just gets what I want when it comes to decor, and can't wait to commission a few handcrafted pieces from him.  I've also been pinning to this board of inspiration that encompasses my decor aesthetic.  Hopefully this will inspire you this weekend to do some redecorating as well!

I'll keep you posted on the process as I juggle the move, upcoming projects, and travel.  Also please share if you know any great home decor inspiration places.
