Maxi Dress
I've always been self-conscious about my muscular calves. Growing up, I would get comments about "how buff" they were, which only drew more unwanted attention and furthered my insecurity. I know, it's silly to think that at my current age I still harbor the same insecurities, but over the years I've definitely gotten better at embracing them. It's also helpful that, with trial and error, I've learned how to dress myself in a way that makes me most comfortable. Most of the time, my go-to (calf-friend) choices are wide-legged pants, denim of the bootcut or black skinny variety, and of course, the undisputed maxi dress. After I spent last Sunday afternoon perusing the web for new summer pieces, I stumbled upon this -- now favorite -- maxi dress. It's one of those classic pieces that I can wear on any hot summer day, and will most likely transition with sweaters come fall. Minimal with just the right amount of detailing at the hemline and sides, this dress serves as the perfect everyday piece.
