SHOELEIDOSCOPE

A temporary departure from my usual collages of swoon-worthy finds on the web.  This time, harping on the ever so necessary wardrobe accessory that gives feet a purpose (aside from the obvious); and the one thing women will admit hoarding because it makes them so seemingly Carrie-Bradshawesque.  After a much-anticipated visit to the floor that every self-proclaimed fashion expert has buzzed about.  Trying far too many size nines to remember and departing only with the lingering smell of fresh leather, and a vivid memory of the shoes I now crave.

Like a harness strapping in a screaming twelve year-old girl on Kingda Ka, these red strappy Miu Mius are undoubtedly a must-have .  Chic enough for the office environment, and an obvious choice for the Tuesday-night party girl.  Transform them from the creative-type environment -- perhaps a boxy shift, barely there make-up, and thick-framed glasses -- to the life of the party with a high-waisted a-line, loosely fitted button down, bold statement necklace, and a smudge of eyeliner.

Now, I never thought I'd say that I'm lusting after frigid cold weather right about now, or more so articles of clothing that involve closed toes and coverage beyond the knees.  At Tuesday's NMRKT party, we chalked our thoughts of what we are "in the market for", and I came up with the most mundane answer - the perfect fall boot, maybe a better answer would have been Balenciaga contrasting pointy toe buckle leather booties, or however one might decide to describe these beauties.

I'm a bit hypnotized by these red wine strapped sandals by Pierre Hardy for many reasons.  When I spotted them on the web, I couldn't resist putting them into this mix of shoeleidoscopes.  A definite subtler color than number one, and so very different in all the right ways.  Epitomizing the ideal shoe color I'm looking to add to my wardrobe this fall and ready to pair with anything from boyfriend jeans and prints, to a LBD.

When it comes to luxury glitter, Miu Miu knows best, and now insert tassels to capture the girl-meets-menswear look all in one shoe.  These are probably what Dorothy would be wearing on the Yellow Brick Road modern-day, and instead of a powder blue gingham skirt, let's go for tailored geometric trousers?  Well, either way, Dorothy or not, these shoes are an all around win, walk in them, dance in them.  Ready, set, gawk.
