The Shops at Columbus Circle
Hey. Hi. Hello. Back at it here with very little "me time" to spare these days. Thanksgiving came and went with ease, and there's still far too much evidence left in my fridge, but the real festivities have just begun and there's no time to waste. When it comes to the holidays, there's nothing more festive than New York City north of Union Square. As the crowds flood every crevice from Rockefeller Center to Central Park, and the bright lights consume this city, I realize how well I've adapted to the chaos over the years. But still, when it comes to shopping for gifts to entertaining needs there are few places in the city to get it all done at once.
There enter The Shop at Columbus Circle. Sure, it's a hop and skip away from my comfortable East Village nook, but well worth it when I can cross every friend off my holiday list, and then some. From discovering adorable bento box-style candy sets at Sugarfina for my friends with a sweet tooth and scented candles for my homebody types; to last-minute entertaining needs from William Sonoma and Whole Foods, and finding the perfect separates to wear to any holiday party -- all black, naturally-- I was elated to cross a few major things off my list in one stop. Not to mention, had a few moments to myself to catch "tea" at Le Bouchon -- chacuterie plate and sparking rose for the win.
As far as outfitting goes, I changed into this ensemble I picked out at the stores. I don't really believe that color dictates your how festive you are. So I'm all about just experimenting with textures and playing around the makeup for the holidays; but at the end of the day, it's all about feeling and looking relaxed. This coat is one of the most ideal additions to my winter rotation. With its John Snow vibes, I'm really conjuring those "winter is coming" feels. Even better when paired with that leather shine wrapped around my calves and a non-traditional little black dress that'll definitely make room for the food baby to come.
