beauty through the ages with vanity fair x revlon
When it comes to makeup in general, I’m really only well versed in the application of eyeliner, mascara, and the occasional primer and BB cream. My makeup mantra has always been to keep things simple—whether that’s making sure primer and foundation go on effortlessly or using eye shadows with pre-coordinated shades.
So, when Vanity Fair recently asked me to participate in the “Beauty Through the Ages” video series with Revlon, I was more than happy to jump on this collaboration. After all, Revlon was the first brand of makeup my sister and I tested out back in high school, and lining up the new products across my apartment floor with a mirror in hand, testing out lipsticks, eyeliner, and pops of fun shades brought back those same memories.
Each blogger in the video series selected a decade that inspired their fashion and beauty style. For my look, I drew inspiration from the 1920s—one of my favorite eras in terms of fashion and style— and incorporated details like lace and Art Deco-inspired jewelry into my outfit.
