Fashion Month

She has returned!  Back in New York City, and feeling rather exhilarated. So, I probably owe an explanation for my absolute silence considering I've rarely gone more than a few days without a peep since the inception of this blog, or maybe I don't but I'll give you one anyways.  For starters, I needed a change, so being the Type A Capricorn that I am, I tried to make it happen.  I began gravitating more of a consulting route -- working with brands at varying capacities -- different than what I do from a collaboration standpoint in this particular blogging space.  Somewhere between quitting my day job and getting situated with my new-ish life (new apartment, new boyfriend, new pets, etc.) about two odd years ago, I found myself at a bit of a crossroads career-wise and really sought out for something to refresh my creative spirit.

The truth is, even though I was seeking out something different, there were very few things that would ever entice me to consider working tirelessly for somebody else again, but an opportunity came up to work for a client that I couldn't pass it up.  So over the past month I took on a project that required 100% of my commitment, covering backstage at the shows in Paris and Milan.

I've covered backstage for the site before, but the experience really opened my eyes to the world of fashion in a different way.  See, even though I love fashion, I've never really experienced life in the fashion world, which by the way, is completely different to the stereotypical blogger life of dressing up and attending the shows.  Over the course of the past month, I really uncovered more of the ins-and-outs and gained an invaluable understanding about the industry.  From the inception of a fashion house's concept to the unveiling of its creation on the runway,  the process alone was truly mesmerizing.

Here's a little glimpse into my fashion month.
