Heat Wave

I have a tendency to slip into pieces that closely resemble a nighty during the hot and humid summer months.  The bohemian vibes that come with the fit and flare of a dress like this dress always have me gravitating toward them.  I'll normally pack a number for beach vacations, but since the weather in New York borders along the lines of tropical, I don't feel so out of place wearing them.   Wore this to date night at one of my favorite Cuban restaurants for cocktails and light fare -- thematic dressing at its best, something that I don't do enough of.  I pretty much walked side to side the entire way to dinner, trying to give the tassels on the dress more movement.  I love when a piece is just as pretty as it is fun to wear.  Also, we stumbled upon this pretty colorful doorway on my block that really ties together the theme.  Now, all I need is my paper fan and flower in my hair.
