Weekly Bits
Sorry for the silence! It's been a long week, and everything that could've gone wrong did -- from parking tickets to a vet emergency room visit, I was definitely overwhelmed considering this trip was intended for a balance of work and play. After the last hiccup where a car door was slammed on my knee (don't worry, just a bruise now), I couldn't help but laugh at everything and embrace whatever was coming at me next. It's been awhile since I've been completely calm about everything -- it must be the overdose of vitamin D -- but this week served as a reminder to focus on the positives in my life. Sure, it's a given to look for the silver lining, but more often than not, the focus is on the negative realities. So, I thought I'd take a few days to enjoy this short hiatus from work and focus on family matters and clear my mind. These past two weeks have been a pleasant break from the usual hustle of New York. Even though I feel the energy is still lacking here, I've enjoyed the overall scene. From the countless new restaurants that have popped up since my departure over six years ago and multitude of L.A. personalities I've come across, to the endless sun-soaked skies and beautiful palm tree backdrops, this city still has a place in my heart. Here are just a few bits from the week.
